What is Data Services a la Carte ?

After many years of designing information systems and coding the related programs, we have found ourselves with a high level of sophistication in the graphical user interface world. With high sophistication comes high costs. Many of the owners of small businesses have simple needs for information from the computer that they begrudgingly purchased. Data Services a la Carte will fill that need calling upon our experience in the pre-Visual Basic world, at costs that are related to the more simple approach to data gathering and presentation.

Why is the web page called 1099xlnt.com ?

The first piece of software that was designed when we decided to start this service is a process for preparing 1099's and the related 1096 Transmittal from the existing data on the computer of a small business. All without purchasing forms or hiring an accounting professional to prepare them. The heart of the process was developed in Windows Excel. The operating system that I was using at the time was Windows NT. The fact that my favorite tamale when I was growing up was brand labeled Xlnt had a little to do with it, in that as soon as I said "1099 Excel" out loud, the "NT" just followed. The fact that the word "xlnt" is the phonetic sound of the Spanish word for excellent also has great bearing. We demand excellence in the products and services that we provide.

What is the client asked to bring to the table ?

The client that we can serve best is one that is using a PC to record the transactions of a business. (Sorry, Apple/Mac owners. We have no expertise with your machines.) In the area of declining some work, now is the perfect time to tell you that we will not take on something that is beyond our reach. We pride ourselves on our integrity and the quality of our work To ever reach beyond our talents would be stupid! The client does not need to have an abundance of computer expertise, nor is that required of any of the client's assistants. We go to great pains to create an instruct the user environment. That is one step above and beyond what is commonly referred to as user-friendly. A connection to the Internet is required. You obviously have that taken care of. The only things required of the client is to first tell us exactly what is being done at the present time. Second, tell us exactly what is needed. Finally, the client must precisely follow the steps that we instruct with the delivery of the software. We have interviewing techniques and forms that make steps one and two easy. Step three only requires the resolve to get what you paid for. What was ordered will be in the software package that is delivered.
